
Wishes are great for Disney Princesses, but NOT SO MUCH for grown up people in the real world.
When I used to coach at Weight Watchers, I had a coworker who often said: Are you wishing for it, or working for it? GULP!
And that sums it up. Are you dreaming about something you want? That comes from your heart. That's an excellent starting point. Step 1, check!
Are you thinking about what you want and strategizing, talking, asking for help, sharing with others--that comes from the mind. That's an excellent step 2.
But here's the dealbreaker or dealmaker... are you DOING something about it? Are you actually using your body, to get what you want? Are you making the moves that really matter. You are beyond wishing, beyond thinking, now you are in the ACTION stage of reeling in the very thing you say you want. It's the difference between getting it--and probably never getting it. Whether it's fitness or a new job or a new friendship group or a new birdfeeder, you have to take action. You have to make moves. You have to go from where you are to another place, physically not just in your heart or mind. Step 3, make it happen!
Know this--you can wish, talk, plan, and redirect whenever you want. If you find out once you take action that you are not getting closer to what you want, no problem--join the rest of the universe, shift gears and redirect.
This week, listen to your heart and your wishes. You want what you want. Great place to start...
Then think about it. Journal about it. Wonder about it. Talk to someone about it. Moving right along...
Then take action. Make a move. Do the thing that gets you on the road to getting what you want. NO MORE wishing and thinking. Level up!
